With
a passion for health, fitness and physical exercise, Tracy Beardsley began
her career in fitness in 1994. This passion, coupled with her love for
working with people at a personal level, has focussed her approach on
helping individuals to believe in themselves, set realistic health and
fitness goals, and achieve them. Tracy's personal successes as a marathon
runner, adventure race survivor, cyclocross racing participant and cyclist
are foundational to her support for her clients, as she motivates them
to pursue their own personal fitness goals.
From her beginnings as an aerobics instructor, Tracy soon expanded her
range of services and established herself in the fitness market in Ottawa.
She incorporated her business, TJFit, in 1997.
Working as a consultant for the YMCA in Ottawa, TJ Fit started and developed
the Ottawa YMCA's program of personal training for members. Within two
years the program was well established and running on its own.
In 2000, TJ Fit expanded and opened a studio where clients could get personal
training in physical fitness. The range of services was also broadened
to include small group fitness activities, such as adult and teen spinning
workouts, a running club, sports-conditioning, drumming, an adventure
club, and cycling trips.
In 2002, on
the strength of its success, TJ Fit expanded again by moving to larger
premises, such that the studio can be used simultaneously for personal
training sessions , spinning classes, fitness assessments, flexibility,
posture, strength-training, stability-ball, and circuit-training classes
and by studio members who follow a fitness program on their own with standard
equipment, including treadmills, an EFX, an upright bike, a rower, free-weights
and benches, and stability balls.
Despite this
growth, the positive environment and personal touch is not lost at TJ
Fit. Personal training is still the primary service. If you have a health
and fitness goal (or if your doctor tells you to get one), a certified
personal trainer at TJ Fit will help you to map out your goal in light
of your needs and limitations and take the steps to achieve it. Or, if
you are looking for group activities that are fun yet have a definite
fitness component, a variety of options are open at TJ Fit, each led by
a trained, certified instructor.
For a lifetime of
fitness, contact TJ Fit at tracy@tjfit.com.
